Abstract:Optical waveguide surface plasmon resonance (SPR) sensors are characterized by their small size, label-free detection, and ease of integration. In this paper, we designed a poly(methyl methacrylate) (PMMA) ridge waveguide SPR sensor based on a wavelength modulation method and optimized the key parameters of the sensor. The analysis results indicate that the sensor can operate stably within a testing range of the liquid refractive index from 1.33 to 1.45. In the high refractive index detection region, the sensor exhibits a sensitivity of up to 10220 nm/RIU and a high-quality factor of 173 RIU-1.
