Abstract:Electromagnetic wave absorbers of surface plasmon have received great attention in the areas of solar cell, UV-protection, photodetection, etc., due to their inherent merits of novel absorbing mechanism, high absorption rate, ultra-thin thickness, ultra-small cell structure, and angle insensitivity. In this review, firstly, according to the difference of its absorbing characteristics, it is divided into narrowband, multi-band and broadband absorption. Then, the research progresses of narrow band, multi-band and broadband surface plasmon electromagnetic wave absorbers are introduced in detail. Finally, the development prospects of surface plasmon electromagnetic wave absorbers are discussed.
