Abstract:The 2μm band thulium-doped pulsed fiber laser has important applications in human eye safety, lidar, life science, optical communication, medical field and so on, and in recent years, it has become a research hotspot of new type fiber laser. The two-dimensional materials represented by graphene are extensively researched due to their excellent saturable absorption properties. In this paper, the applications and developments of carbon nanotubes, graphene, black scales, topological materials and other two-dimensional materials as saturable absorbers in thulium-doped pulsed lasers are analyzed. The research progresses of thulium-doped pulsed fibers based on two-dimensional materials at home and abroad are reviewed, and the future developments are prospected.
