Abstract:In this paper, the fs-scale delay jitter measurement technique in microwave photonic links (MPL) based on frequency down conversion with TOF-TDC method was resented. The basic principle of the measurement mechanism, system structure and parameter design are discussed in detail. The signal delay jitter can be measured with the fs-scale accuracy and great delay measurement range. The delay jitter caused by the environmental factors can influence the phase transfer of the high-frequency analog microwave light transmission seriously, which restricts its wide applications to the optically controlled phased array. The delay jitter measurement technique proposed in this paper can essentially solve the basic problem encountered in the stationary phase transmission in the optical transmission link for EW and wideband radar, and has good potential for application.
