Abstract:Ships usually sail in complex and harsh environment, and the strength and functions of hull will be damaged and destroyed. So structure monitoring of ship hulls is quite necessary. In this paper, a FBG strain sensing system applied in ship structure monitoring was described. Firstly, the surface mounted FBG strain sensor was designed with nonglue package, which has good linearity and repeatability. Then the PGC demodulator based on an unbalanced MZ interferometer was proposed. High precision and real time signal detection were realized for the FBG strain sensor. Lastly, the construction technology and process were presented, and the strain data was analyzed.
