Abstract:Using the Kerr effect and the cross phase modulation effect, and applying principal component generalized projects (PCGP) algorithm based on matrix, in this paper, proposed is a novel scheme of frequency resolved optical gating (FROG) measurement for optical arbitrary waveforms based on Kerr crystal. Though establishing theory model of FROG measurement for optical arbitrary waveforms, the scheme was simulated. Furthermore, the impacts of background noise process, gating waveform shape and gating waveform intensity on the measurement accuracy were discussed. Simulation results show that it can accurately measure the amplitude and phase of optical arbitrary waveforms. The measurement is sufficiently accurate when the gating waveform is rectangle pulse.
