Abstract:Wireless ad-hoc network is usually used in non-artificially controlled external environment, applying battery as its power supply. Therefore, how to reduce power consumption via legitimate routing protocol and improving the lifetime of the network, are being widely studied in recent years. In this paper, it is proposd a cross-layer routing protocol that considers link quality and energy-efficiency simultaneously during the routing establishment phase. Then during the routing maintenance phase, the protocol utilizes link quality and the remaining energy of nodes to predict the routing interruption and perform local repair. The protocol is simulated on IEEE 802.15.4 Matlab simulator. The results show that our protocol effectively improves lifetime and the data delivery ratio of the network, and also the performance and stability of AODV.
