Abstract:Quick start of fiber optic gyro is extremely important in the field of military and navigation, while the start-up speed of SLD is the slowest in fiber optic gyroscope devices. In this paper, the analysis was performed on the mechanism of SLD start-up characteristics, and the changes of output power, driven current, temperature control current and temperature were tested by the high-speed data acquisition card. The start-up time of SLD is about 3~4s, power fluctuation error is 4.5% at room temperature, the rise time of the driving current is about 0.3s, and the cooling current has 0.12s delay compared to the temperature of heatsink. Larger deviation of environment temperature and ideal temperature reault in longer start-up time, and the start-up under high temperature is longer than that under low temperature. The effects of SLD start-up characteristic on fiber optic gyro bias were obtained, and increasing the preamplifier gain can reduce the additional zero bias.
