In order to facilitate the detection,identification and other follow-up treatment of infrared targets,as traditional infrared image enhancement algorithm presents such problems as poor enhancement of the image detail and blurred visual effect,thus an enhancement algorithm for infrared images based on Retinex theory was proposed.The algorithm can obtain the reflected component by fixing the path to enhance the targets of infrared images which are darker overall.The simulation results show that this method can enhance the image detail better than Single Scale Retinex and Multi Scale Retinex algorithm,and effectively improve the visual effect of infrared images.
