Abstract:The relation between PDG due to pump-signal Raman interaction of backward pumped FRA and several important parameters, including polarization mode dispersion(PMD) of fiber, pump power, pump wavelength, signal power, fiber length, fiber loss, is investigated by numerical method. The influences of the parameters on degrading the PDG due to pump-signal Raman interaction of backward pumped FRA are discussed based on the numerical method results. And the results show that the PDG in backward pumped FRA degrades when the PMD of fiber and the length of fiber increase, and increases with the pump power and pump wavelength. Moreover, the results show that the signal power and the fiber loss have little influences on the PDG.
