Abstract:The effect of sawtooth type channel on the strained superlattice is equivalent to the periodic modulation of similar shape, and the effects on the system stability by dual frequency excitation are considered. In the framework of classical mechanics and the small amplitude approximation, the particle motion equation is reduced to generalized Duffing equation with slowly varying excitation amplitude. The resonance behaviours of the system are analyzed by using perturbed method, and bifurcation is discussed by average method. The results show that instability of the system is related to parameters, and by appropriate adjusting parameters, the system instability can be suppressed or avoided in principle.
