Abstract:Aiming at the screening requirements of superluminesent diodes (SLD) in interferometric fiber opticgyro (I FOG), the theoretical and experimental investigations on SLD evaluation were carried out. Using the comprehensive test system, the relationship between the control parameters and characteristics of SLD was measured. The test results indicate that the equivalent resistance of TEC, power of SLD, cooling current and temperature coefficient of thermistor are the main factors affecting the matching between SLD and control parameters; if SLDs are tested closing to the practical conditions, the above characteristics can evaluate whether SLD matches the control parameters; if the above evaluation parameters can combine with the normal evaluation parameters, the SLD can be selected more completely.
