Abstract:Polymorphous OBS (POBS) can effectively support the transmission of a variety of synchronous and asynchronous traffic. Compared with the traditional OBS network in the same environment, the asynchronous burst loss rate of polymorphous OBS is higher. Effectively scheduling the asynchronous burst in polymorphous OBS is the key to reduce burst loss rate. In this paper, a scheduling algorithm based on channel arrangement is proposed, for which, after algorithm is started, the successfully scheduled burst will be rescheduled to the most appropriate wavelength channel. In this way, the channel resource is effectively utilized and the asynchronous burst loss rate is reduced. The simulation results show that the proposed algorithm can effectively reduce the asynchronous burst loss rate of polymorphous OBS.
