The aim of this study is to investigate the influence of the relevant design parameters of fin on LED light, including cross-section shape and installation angle, so as to improve heat dissipation performance. Firstly, the thermal performance of two kinds of fins with different cross-section shape were simulated and compared using Matlab with the objective of searching for an optimal heat sink design. Then, three fin specimens with different fin angles were fabricated to conduct temperature test. Finally, Ansys was used to identify the convective heat transfer coefficient in this investigation. The results show that when the cross-section shape is rectangle and installation angle is 90°(perpendicular to the horizon), a minimum operating temperature can be obtained.
