Low out-coupling efficiency is an important problem limiting the development of OLED. Various methods have been proposed for solving it, and fabrication microlens array (MLA) on the glass substrates is an effective one. In this paper, the principles of improving the out-coupling efficiency with MLA were analyzed, and MLAs with various kinds of architectural feature were introduced for light extraction enhancement in OLED. Various fabrication methods are summarized and the latest advances and development trends in MLA for light extraction enhancement in OLED are presented.
