Abstract:Semiconductor optical amplifier (SOA) and nonlinear optical loop mirror (NOLM) were used to realize optical AND logical gate, and the working principles were analyzed. And the feasibility of the method was proved by simulation experiments. Additionally, the relationship between coupling ratio of coupler and the output result was analyzed; and the function curve of BER changing with the received power was presented. And also the eye pattern under free penalty transmission condition was presented and some factors may affect the output results were discussed.
