Abstract:Using the method of characteristic matrix, the light field formula of TE wave in 1D photonic crystal is deduced, and the light field distribution of the cylindrical waveguide of 1D photonic crystal is studied. Light field of the modes decreases with the increase of the propagation depth in band gap, while the light field in conduction band is in the opposite. These features help the understanding of the formation of forbidden and conduction bands in the cylindrical waveguide of 1D photonic crystal.
