A phase detection technology based on double-carrier vector-sum method was proposed for the phase stabilized distribution in long haul analog microwave photonic links. The basics principles of phase detection were analyzed. The optic-link design, experiment process and the corresponding results were researched in detail. A phase detection resolution of about 3 degrees was obtained for 1GHz signal. This technology can be widely used in optically controlled phased array, local oscillator distribution system and other optic distribution fields due to its high resolution, simple structure and low cost.
