Abstract:The high quality multi-crystalline silicon solar cells were achieved by increasing the sheet resistance of the emitter and using the multi-grid screen printing process. Through comparing with sheet resistance and ECV concentration of two different diffusion processes, the effect of emitter sheet resistance on the electrical properties of solar cells were studied. The results shows that, compared with the polycrystalline silicon solar cells with 70Ω/□ emitter, the cells with 80Ω/□ emitter demonstrate an improvement of 0.9mV in open-circuit voltage, 0.13mA/cm2 in short current density, and thus 0.08% higher in energy conversion efficiency, in spite of a 0.05% loss in fill factor resulted from a 0.03mΩ increase in series resistance.
