By analyzing the wireless OFDM technology and the polarization characteristics of the single-mode optical fiber, a MIMO-framework-based optical OFDM system was proposed and an experimental platform was built. By combining two 12Gb/s OFDM signals into one 24Gb/s signal, a two-way signal demodulated output was achieved. Experimental results show that the system can extend the fiber channel spectrum allocation and increase channel capacity, obtaining strong against fiber dispersion.
