Abstract:To meet the needs of the displacement monitoring in structural health monitoring system, a new kind of FBG displacement sensor with simple structure, high accuracy, temperature self-compensation is proposed based on cantilever beam of uniform strength. Some calibrations were done on the sensitivity coefficient. The results show that the correlation coefficient is up to 0. 999, and the precision of the sensor is 0.326% FS. Displacement experiments demonstrate that the FBG displacement sensor is suitable for long-term project structure monitoring because of its advantages of small size, high precision and low influence on the structure.
