Abstract:With the development of the fabrication of the semiconductor solar cells, the conversion efficiency of GaAs-based III-V compounds semiconductor solar cells continuously improves. Currently, GaAs-based solar cells, as the world's most competitive next-generation solar cells, have become a focus in the photovoltaic field. An overview is presented on the research proceeding and recent development of dual-junction, triple-junction and multi-junction (>3J) GaAs-based solar cells in detail, and their future prospects are predicted.
