Properties of regular decagonal symmetry in photonic crystal fiber Bragg grating (PCFBG) were studied. The influence of different air hole layers and different duty ratio on the reflection spectrum of Bragg grating was analyzed. On this basis, the sensing characteristics of the ten-edge shaped photonic crystal fiber gratings were studied. Research results show that the reflection spectrum of the fiber grating resonance wavelength will shift significantly to the long wavelength with the temperature increases. However, with the change of strain, the reflection spectrum of the fiber grating resonance wavelength is not obvious. So its sensing characteristics show that the grating is sensitive to temperature and insensitive to strain. The air holes arranged in regular decagonal symmetry photonic crystal fiber grating are expected to be better applied in the field of photonic crystal fiber sensing grating.
